Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Short answers to common questions about how the game works.

Quick answers about Criminal Records. For mechanics and live round settings, see Game Tips. Step-by-step flow: Tutorial. Clans and companies have their own information pages.

What is Criminal Records?

Criminal Records is a browser-based mafia MMO. You commit crimes, build power, join clans, run companies, own objects, and compete on leaderboards.

How do I earn money and XP?

Crimes, attacks, hookers, companies, objects, streets, territory and achievements all reward cash and/or XP. Deposit cash in the bank to protect it from player attacks.

Can I have multiple accounts?

No. One person, one account. Multi-accounting for an unfair advantage violates the rules and can lead to a ban.

I found a bug — what should I do?

Report it through the helpdesk with steps to reproduce. Do not exploit bugs; abuse can result in account action.

How do companies work?

Create or join a company when you meet the rank requirement. Employees generate customers hourly; earnings split 50/50 to company cash and bank. See Information → Company information.

How does the hospital work?

Buy health for $50 per point (up to 100%). Restoring to at least 99% health in one purchase unlocks the full-health achievement.

Why was I jailed?

Failed crimes, attacks, streets and other activities can send you to jail for a random duration. You can still access limited pages while jailed — see the jailed page for details.

Where are the game rules?

Information → Rules lists guidelines, important rules and zero-tolerance offences. Breaking rules can lead to court, fines or bans.

Is the game free to play?

Yes. You can play for free. Optional gold and premium features exist but are not required to progress.

What happens when I get killed?

You lose cash on hand and go to the hospital at 0% health. Bank balance, inventory, garage and rank progress remain. Bodyguards and the safehouse reduce murder risk.

How do clans work?

Reach Associate rank, then join or create a clan. Clans share income, diplomacy, a shop, forum and donation sheet. See Information → Clan information for full details.

Where can I learn the game flow?

Open Information → Tutorial for the step-by-step guide, or restart the interactive tutorial from that page.

What are objects?

Country-based businesses (bullet factories, red light districts, casino games). Owners earn when other players use them. See Information → Objects.

What is gold and premium?

Gold can be bought or earned from events. Spend it on premium days, power, cash and more via the Gold Exchange. Premium unlocks tags, emojis and extra features.

How do I contact staff?

Use the helpdesk for support, bug reports and privacy questions. Moderators and admins respond through the ticket system.

Where can I see this round's settings?

Open Information → Game tips and scroll to Current admin settings. Taxes, cooldowns, min stakes, lottery costs and more are loaded live from staff economy settings.

Rules

Rules

Of course, there are rules! If you don't follow them, you'll end up in court.

Every player is expected to know and follow these rules. Sections are colour-coded by severity: blue guidelines, orange important rules, and red zero-tolerance offences that can lead to a ban or court visit.

Rule intensity is shown in each section header and background:

  • Guidelines — expected behaviour and good sportsmanship.
  • Important — breaking these rules leads to warnings, fines, or temporary bans.
  • Zero tolerance — cheating, abuse, or exploitation; permanent ban possible.

Guidelines

  • Treat other players and crew members with respect — in chat, messages, profiles, and the forum.
  • Keep language appropriate. Excessive swearing, slurs, or harassment is not welcome.
  • Play fair. Do not exploit bugs — report them through the helpdesk instead.
  • Do not spam chat, messages, forum posts, or helpdesk tickets.
  • English is the main language in public channels unless staff say otherwise.

Important rules

  • One person, one account. Multi-accounting to gain an unfair advantage is forbidden.
  • Do not share, sell, or trade accounts. You are responsible for everything that happens on your account.
  • Do not impersonate staff, moderators, or other players.
  • Do not advertise other games, websites, or services without permission.
  • Marketplace and trade deals must be honoured. Scamming other players is punished.

Zero tolerance

  • Cheating, botting, scripting, or automating gameplay in any way.
  • Duplicating items, money, credits, or exploiting economy bugs for personal gain.
  • Real-money trading (RMT) — buying or selling in-game assets for real currency.
  • Hacking, DDoS, phishing, or any attempt to compromise accounts or the game.
  • Threats, doxing, or severe harassment inside or outside the game.

Welcome To Criminal Records!

Criminal Records

Criminal Records is a free, browser-based crime MMO. Build your reputation across cities, climb the ranks, and leave your mark on the underworld — every choice shapes your record, from your first street job to the empire you fight to keep.

Pull jobs on the street, steal cars, run organised heists and hostage runs, scout red-light districts, and travel between countries. Grow your power, influence, kills, and notoriety — but the higher you rise, the bigger the target on your back.

You will not get far alone. Join a clan, start a company, hire employees, and turn shaky alliances into a lasting operation. Invest in weapons, bodyguards, and protection; train at the shooting range; rent cover or hide in a safehouse when the heat rises.

Own casinos, bullet factories, and red-light districts. Trade gold, cars, witnesses, and objects on the marketplace, place bounties on your rivals, and try your luck in player-run casino tables — or settle scores in the arcade.

Hospitals, jail, and the courts are never far away — every street decision has a cost. So far, 36 criminals have already signed up, 3 clans and 4 companies are fighting for the streets — your record starts the moment you sign up.
